Crazy Twix chocolate bar

These Paleo Homemade Twix Bars have all the delicious layers of the popular candy, but made with wholesome ingredients. Sweet, delicious, and easy to make. They also happen to be gluten free, dairy free, and vegan. You will absolutely love these!
Twix used to be one of my favorite candy bars. I was never big on any chocolate candy, but I made a couple exceptions and Twix was one of them. The shortbread crust, the thick gooey layer of caramel and the thin layer of chocolate- it was perfection. Recreating it using real ingredients was fun and result was even better than expected. These don’t taste like a healthy treat at all- they are just as good, if not better than the original.
Although it looks like a long list of ingredients, it’s mostly the same ingredients repeated in each layer. It takes a little time to complete it, but it’s easy and most of the time is waiting for it to harden in the fridge. They are well worth the time because the final result is a whole pan of cookie bars! Cut them small because they are rich.

Ingredients :

180g dark chocolate (or milk if you prefer)
60g peanut butter chips
45 g unsalted roasted peanuts (or wipe them very well if you can only find the salted kind)
8 Twix bars

Directions :

Roughly chop the dark chocolate, put it in a bowl with the PB chips and melt it all in the microwave.
Pour a little of this mix in a rectangle mold, lined with cling film. Put the Twix bars on top, toffee part facing up.
Put very briefly in the microwave so that the Twix melt slightly.
Sprinkle the peanuts, roughly chopped as well, and cover with another layer of melted PB chocolate. Not too much though.
Quickly spread with the back of a spoon without insisting too much.
Let set at room temperature and cut bars askew… and just eat!
